Baby photos.

I am le sick! It's no good! The weather has been glorious the past few days. A week of sunny, cloudless days and warm temperatures makes a happy elf. I swear I am solar powered- I get so much done when it's sunnier! It's been perfect maxi dress weather.

I cleaned up my room and have been decorating with scented candles and broken lamps I found on the street, it's been amazing having such a sweet smelling, tranquil place to be.
I went through my entire wardrobe and was brutally honest with mysElf. The result? Two giant garbage bags of clothes I need to get rid of. I'll be putting some items up for sale, so stay tuned :)

Despite feeling lousy, the weather was so nice today, it would be such a shame if I just spent all of the day inside. So, I ventured out with Alex, to find more tea and found a cute cropped top with a pony on it instead :D

I hate decisions, I really do.
Facing the utter dilemma of which is of a higher priority: Paying $190 to go to the Australian Contortion Festival + it's workshops in Melbourne for training sessions, or buying the $300 Nikon I need to get my project really on the roll.
I would just borrow a camera, but I want to use the same camera so the images are of the same quality, every time from the word go. The camera also needs to be a little more impressive than a regular point and shoot, but not as big and heavy as a DSLR. Bah! Unless I can magic $200, I'm going to have to have a big ol' think.

I'm sure some of you have had the 'embarrassing photos on your birthday' thing happen to you. My mum never got the chance to embarrass me at my birthday parties, and I think she kind of really wanted to show my friends how much of a dork I was as a kid.
I thought I was safe, but she went on a bit of a spree uploading and tagging me in a bunch of old family photos on Facebook. 90s haircuts and goofy teeth upped the cringe factor, but I just can't help but be weirded out how that tiny baby was even me!

I've rambled enough now. Time to make the maple glaze for my vegan chocolate cupcakes. Recipe will be up soon ;3

Rummage Sale and Gilles St Markets.

Accidentally stumbled on the best sale of my life on Friday, while perusing my favourite vintage shop, 284 Rundle St. They have been doing $20 Rummage Sales, where you pay $20 for a bag + as much stuff as you could cram into it :D
It was like a dream- a whole room full of fellow vintage aficionados, amazing vintage clothing and not having to worry about prices. There were piles of coats, dresses, skirts, blouses, tights, mens clothing, shoes, accessories- and you had to be quick so you didn’t miss anything.

I managed to get two pairs of shoes (one pair being Doc Marten mary janes), 3 dresses, six tops, 2 denim jackets, a velvet blazer, three skirts, four pairs of excruciatingly loud tights and a brooch stuffed into that poor string bag. All vintage, all amazing! I think I managed to nab around $400 of stock for $20, I am so chuffed :D

I am pretty darn impressed with my cramming skills, hahah.

What I managed to stuff into that bag, even Alex was impressed :P

I caught up with my parents today while they were in the city. I wore a vintage lace collared shirt I found at the rummage sale and a leopard print turban.

We had lunch at Bliss Organic Café and then sussed the Gilles Street Market together. Poor dad looked a little in over his head! I managed to find some amazing buys; a $5 vintage Calvin Klein shirt, cinderblock platform sandals, a sheer cropped shirt and some other summer essentials.

Time to clean my old wardrobe out and bring on summer!
Of COURSE I took photos of all my finds- you’ll have to click through to see; there’s LOADS of photos :D I’ve got a whole bunch of daily outfit posts I’ll have to put up at some point, too :D
I’m thinking I might hold onto them for the Spring Clothes Swap at the Box Factory Community Center on the 3rd of September.
Click on the photo to make it bigger, of course :P

Would anyone be interested in coming along to that? We could make a day of it :D

Sorry I’ve been neglecting this blog a little bit- I have been SO busy and so excited with this project that’s been so many months in the making. I’ll do my best to show this page a little more love- starting with vegan peanut butter snickerdoodles?

Flower barrettes.

*Update*My Etsy shop is now stocked, and officially open! Hooray!

I have been really busy recently, spending my time making pretty flowery things for people's heads! Something I will be selling through my boutique and on Etsy :D

The idea came from I was really bored with my hair + decided a top knot would suit me fine.  I drew inspiriation from an oversized bow I was wearing with it + created a pretty flower barrette to wear out on a dinner date, on a whim. Due to an overwhelmingly positive response to my creations, I am continuing to make them to sell!

Here are some of the creations I have made recently- what do you think? :D
Sorry, so many of the photos are terrible webcam shots- my camera battery ran out + I can't find its charger! Oh no D:<

Baby pink beaded roses with glass beaded mushroom grey roses- I wore this one one today :D

Daisies + yellow roses ♥

The first barrette I made! Beaded black + blood red roses ^_^

The barrette I made for my beautiful friend, Jadey. Beaded roses + blue rosebuds ♥

A commission piece I made for Louise's wedding! ^_^

The baby pink + dusky pink rose piece I made for my Melbourne wifeh, Krissi ♥

The barrettes I have made over the past few days :3

I sell each premade barrette for $15, custom commissions are $20. They are finished with co-ordinating ribbon + come in a cute organza pouch. I am happy to talk custom creations- just drop me a line on here, my Tumblr or fanpage :)

I wore my baby pink barrette out today. Coffee from the Coffee Branch in the CBD- my faavourite ♥

Tentacles & Teacups Boutique!

Oh my gosh, I am so excited!

I am finally able to start work on a project I have been SO excited about! I've begun setting up my Tentacles & Teacups Boutique!

Essentially, I will be using it to sell handmade items (such as my hats and clothing items), my customised pieces of clothing (more pairs of dye spattered jeans and so on), clothing I no longer wear + vintage finds!
I want to share my love for vintage clothing + give people the oppurtunity to own some absolutely gorgeous clothing ^_____^

I have a few items up for sale already, head to the Tentacles & Teacups Boutique tumblr + have a look! ♥

I found this gorgeous sweater while hunting for goodies for my boutique- I'm a little bit obsessed with it! It's so glittery and fabulous- and covers the evidence of all the vegan chocolate chip cookies I have been scoffing, hehe!

I'll leave you with a new hairstyle I have been trialling- the dreadlock top knot! I really like the way my hair is out of my face- I think it's a keeper! I'm glad I have something else to do with my hair- there's not a lot I can do with it most of the time!

What do you think?
